Landry N’Guemo, the 27-year-old Cameroonian international and midfielder for Bordeaux, experienced “heart problems” during the match against Maccabi Tel Aviv. He was substituted 15 minutes before the end of the game and was subsequently rushed to the hospital. However, according to Bordeaux’s coach Francis Gillot, N’Guemo is doing better.
N’Guemo himself took to Twitter to reassure fans, stating, “Thank you for your messages of support. Nothing serious, I went home after an electrocardiogram at the hospital.” The club also expressed their well-wishes, tweeting, “Take a good rest and see you later at Haillan.” N’Guemo previously played for Nancy-Lorraine and Celtic FC before joining Bordeaux in 2011.
