Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made his injury return on Wednesday, featuring in Besiktas’ 4-0 victory against Kayserispor in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Super Eagles star had been sidelined for two matches after suffering a hamstring problem while on international duty earlier this month.

His comeback provides much-needed relief for Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle, who is already contending with injury setbacks ahead of October’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Chelle is certain to be without defender Ola Aina, who recently underwent surgery following a hamstring injury sustained in the 1-1 draw against South Africa.

Ndidi delivered a composed display before being substituted for Kartal Yılmaz, with the move described as precautionary by the coaching staff.

His solid outing reassured both club and country supporters that he is nearing full fitness at a crucial stage of the season.
