Canadian left-back of Liberian descent Alphonso Davies has returned to training after four-month absence.
His return come as a huge boost for German giants Bayern Munich as they gear up for the upcoming 2025/26 football campaign.
Davies suffered a serious injury while in action for the Canadian national team during the March international break. He ultimately missed the remainder of the 2024/25 season as Bayern triumphed to secure the Bundesliga title.
Following a four month absence, the enterprising left-back resumed training with Bayern Munich, which come as a refreshing news for the club.
Having returned to training, Davies has expressed his happiness while taking it one step at a time to get himself ready for the new season.
“At first, I tried running slowly, but the coach told me to pick up the pace. That made me happy. But I know I need to take it one step at a time. I feel good. At first, I could only walk, and now I can jog a bit again—it’s a completely different feeling. I’m someone who loves to sprint, but I know I have to be patient,” Davies told the club media.
Davies, who was born in a refugee camp in Ghana has already extended his contract with Bayern Munich, fending off interest from Real Madrid.
