Blessing Assamoah: Ghanaian midfielder joins FC Telavi on free transfer from Sioni Bolnisi

Ghanaian attacking midfielder Blessing Assamoah has joined FC Telavi on a free transfer from Erovnuli Liga 2 rivals Sioni Bolnisi. The 22-year-old moves within Georgia’s second tier after impressing with his performances this season.

Assamoah, born in Accra and standing at 1.85m, has been operating primarily as an attacking midfielder and prefers his right foot. He arrives at Telavi having already featured prominently in the current Erovnuli Liga 2 campaign, where he has made 18 appearances out of a possible 19 matches for Sioni.

His impact in the final third has been notable, scoring six league goals and contributing directly to nearly a quarter of his former club’s goals this season. Assamoah has started the vast majority of Sioni’s games and played most of the available minutes, underlining his status as a regular starter at this level.

The move keeps Assamoah in familiar surroundings in Georgia’s second tier and offers Telavi a ready-made creative option in midfield, rather than a long-term project. His combination of height, mobility and goal threat from advanced areas adds a different profile to their attacking options.

Assamoah, who joined Telavi on 26 July 2026, links up with his new team immediately as they continue their Erovnuli Liga 2 campaign, completing a free transfer that strengthens the club’s midfield resources for the remainder of the season.
