Biruk Endale: Ethiopia midfielder joins Kidus Giorgis from Wolwalo Adigrat

Ethiopian defensive midfielder Biruk Endale has joined Kidus Giorgis from Wolwalo Adigrat, completing a move that ties him to the Addis Ababa club until June 2028. The 25-year-old switches Premier League rivals after establishing himself as a regular in the Ethiopian top flight.

Endale arrives at Kidus Giorgis on the back of consistent domestic experience, having made 60 Premier League appearances and featuring once in the CAF Champions League. Primarily a defensive midfielder, he is expected to strengthen the centre of the pitch for his new side, offering protection in front of the back line and stability in possession.

The Ethiopia international had been with Wolwalo Adigrat since the start of the 2025–26 season, having joined them from Ethiopia Nigd. His performances there helped raise his profile within the league, reflected in a current market value of around €100,000.

Kidus Giorgis have secured Endale on a contract running to the end of the 2027–28 campaign, giving the club medium-term continuity in a key position. The move also marks another step in the player’s career progression after back-to-back seasons of top-flight football.

Endale’s transfer from Wolwalo Adigrat to Kidus Giorgis is effective from 15 July 2026, with his registration now completed and his contract in place through 30 June 2028.
