The race for the title of the best African football club in 2013 has captivated the continent and the diaspora, with CS Sfaxien leading the voting with over 10,000 votes. The Tunisian club has surpassed Raja Casablanca, but the winner will only be revealed on Sunday, January 5.

CS Sfaxien’s achievement is highlighted by their victory in the Confederation Cup against TP Mazembe. In the first leg on November 23, 2013, Sfaxien Sports Club secured a 2-0 win with goals from Didier Ndong Ibrahim and Taha Yassine Khenissi. The return leg on November 30, 2013, saw TP Mazembe win 2-1 at their home stadium, with goals from Cheibane Traore and Mbwana Ally Samata, while Fakhreddine Ben Youssef scored for CS Sfaxien.

The Africa Top Sports Awards, in its second edition, has been ongoing for more than a month, with fans voting for the best players in African sport. The voting has been intense, and the addition of Raja Casablanca was made during the process due to their remarkable performance, narrowly missing out on the Club World Cup title against Bayern Munich.
