Besiktas weigh move for €8m-rated Freiburg winger Cyriaque Irie

Cyriaque Irie, the Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast winger at Freiburg, has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas.

Irie, 21, joined Freiburg from Troyes in July 2025 in a deal worth €8.5m and has since made 10 Bundesliga appearances, playing 343 minutes. The right winger has also featured in the Europa League and DFB-Pokal during his time in Germany.

His current market value is listed at €8m, putting him close to the fee Freiburg paid for him last summer. The reported interest comes after a season in which Irie was used primarily as a squad option at the Bundesliga club.

The Vavoua-born player began his senior career with Real du Faso before moving to French football, joining Dijon in 2023 and then Troyes a year later. He made 33 Ligue 2 appearances for Troyes, scoring six goals and providing three assists, before securing his move to Freiburg.

Irie is left-footed and operates on the right side of attack. He also scored six goals in 25 Ligue 3 appearances during his time with Dijon, alongside three assists.

There is no indication that a deal with Besiktas has been agreed, and Irie remains a Freiburg player. His contract expiry has not been disclosed.
