Turkish outfit, Beşiktaş have reportedly turned down an approach from Ajax for Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi in the current transfer window.

The Dutch giants enquired about the availability of the Super Eagles captain, but Beşiktaş were unwilling to sanction a move.

The Istanbul-based club are said to have proposed a deal involving a €2 million loan fee with a €12 million option to buy for the 29-year-old midfielder, terms that ultimately did not progress into an agreement.

Ndidi joined Beşiktaş in June 2025, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until summer 2028. He has already been entrusted with a leadership role, being named the club’s vice-captain.

The defensive midfielder is currently sidelined as he continues his recovery from an injury sustained during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Since joining Besiktas, the midfielder has made 15 appearances in the Turkish top-flight, scoring one goal and delivering an assist across the period.

Ndidi enjoyed an amazing Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles, who finished third at the end of the tournament in Morocco.
