Besiktas renew Mohamed Salah pursuit as deal talks continue

Besiktas are still chasing Mohamed Salah and, despite earlier uncertainty, the Turkish club have renewed efforts to bring the Egyptian star to Istanbul.

Club president Serdal Adali had already claimed Besiktas reached an agreement with Salah before talks hit a wall over commission demands from his agent, Ramy Abbas.

Journalist Ismael Mahmoud now reports that Besiktas are trying to revive the deal, while Abbas has publicly denied that any final agreement exists and says Salah’s future is still open. That uncertainty has not stopped Besiktas from pushing ahead, especially with Salah available on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool earlier this summer.

Salah’s name carries huge weight in Turkey, and the move would be one of the biggest in the club’s recent history. He ended a remarkable nine-year spell at Liverpool as one of the club’s modern greats, winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and two EFL Cups, while climbing high on the all-time scoring lists.

Salah also looked sharp at the 2026 World Cup, which has only increased excitement among Besiktas supporters. If the deal can be revived, fans in Istanbul will believe they are signing a true global star.
