The 22-year-old winger has been a transfer target for several European clubs following an impressive performance for Bayer Leverkusen last season.
Poku joined the German club in summer 2025 and made an immediate impact, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 29 appearances across competitions.
After just a season, the Dutch-Ghanaian attacker has agreed to join Besiktas. Poku is scheduled to travel to Istanbul on Wednesday to undergo his medical examination before putting pen to paper.
The talented winger is expected to joining Besiktas for an initial loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.
His pace, direct running and ability to operate in wide attacking positions are expected to add another dimension to Besiktas’ attacking options.
For Poku, the move represents an opportunity to take on a new challenge in Turkish football and potentially establish himself as an important figure at one of the country’s biggest clubs.
