Besiktas make move for Morocco international Brahim Diaz from Real Madrid
Morocco international Brahim Diaz has emerged as a transfer target for Turkish club Besiktas, adding another twist to the Real Madrid midfielder’s uncertain future.
According to Fichajes, Besiktas are continuing their efforts to sign the Moroccan star after missing out on Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, who moved to Trabzonspor.
The Turkish club have now turned their attention to Diaz as they look to strengthen their squad before the summer transfer window closes.
Real Madrid want to keep Morocco star
A move for Diaz could prove difficult, however, with Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to keep the Moroccan international at the Spanish giants.
The club’s desire to retain the 26-year-old could therefore prove a major obstacle for Besiktas as they attempt to negotiate a deal.
Diaz remains caught between Real Madrid’s plans for him and Besiktas’ determination to bring him to Turkey.
Diaz future set for decisive days
The Moroccan international’s situation is expected to become clearer in the coming days as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.
For Morocco, Diaz’s future will also be closely followed as the Atlas Lions continue to build towards their upcoming international commitments.
Whether he remains at the Santiago Bernabeu or makes a move to Turkey, the next few days could determine the next chapter of Diaz’s career.
