Besiktas eye MC Algiers striker Mohamed Saliou Bangoura after prolific Ligue 1 campaign

Guinean striker Mohamed Saliou Bangoura, who plays for MC Algiers, has been linked with a move to Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig.

The 22-year-old centre-forward has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 32 Ligue 1 appearances for the Algerian club. He has also made three appearances in the Coupe d’Algerie, scoring once.

Bangoura joined MC Algiers from Hafia FC in February 2025 in a deal worth €400,000. He has since been part of the side that won the Algerian championship in both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

The Guinean, who is right-footed and stands 1.82m tall, has also featured in continental competition for MC Algiers, making two appearances in the CAF Champions League and one in the CAF Confederation Cup.

His form has now been followed by reported interest from Besiktas, although the available details do not indicate that an agreement has been reached or that negotiations have been concluded.

Bangoura’s current market value is listed at €1.2m, while his contract with MC Algiers runs until 30 June 2028.
