Burkina Faso head coach Brama Traore has named a 23-man squad set to face Egypt and Sierra Leone in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers next month.

The West African side will make a trip to North Africa on Thursday, June 6, in Cairo, while they play Sierra Leone four days later at home.

The squad consists of experienced goalkeeper Herve Koffi, Edmond Tapsoba, Ibrahim Blati Toure, and Dango Ouattara, who plies his trade in the Premier League.

Conspicuously missing in the setup is captain Bertrand Traore.

The former Chelsea and Aston Villa player scored in the 3-0 win against Ethiopia and 1-1 draw during the first two games of the World Cup qualifiers.

Following the first two games, the Stallions have gathered 4 points out of possible 6 in Group A.

In the current standings, Egypt leads the group with 6 points after winning their first two games, followed by Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau with 4 points each.

The winners in each of the 9 groups will automatically qualify for the Mundial as Africa have been allocated 9 slots following the expansion of the World Cup teams from 32 to 48 in the next World Cup to be played in USA, Canada and Mexico.
