Bernard Faye joins Hatta Club as Senegal forward switches from Baniyas

Senegal striker Bernard Faye has joined Hatta Club from FC Baniyas in a move between two UAE Pro League clubs.

The 23-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with Hatta running until 30 June 2027. Faye will continue his career in the United Arab Emirates after spending the previous part of his career with Baniyas, whom he joined in March 2025 on a free transfer from Qatar’s Al-Bidda SC.

Faye made five UAE Pro League appearances for Baniyas and scored once. He brings experience from several leagues to Hatta, having also played in Qatar, Tunisia and Senegal since beginning his senior career.

His most productive recorded spell came in the Qatari Second Division, where he scored eight goals and provided one assist in 21 appearances. He also scored six times in 14 Ligue 1 appearances and found the net once in his five UAE Pro League outings.

Born in Thies, Faye began his career with Senegalese club Generation Foot before moving to CNEPS Excel in 2021. He joined Tunisian side AS Soliman in 2022 and later moved to Al-Waab SC in Qatar in 2023. His transfer to Al-Bidda followed in July 2024, before his free move to Baniyas the following year.

The left-footed forward stands 1.90m tall and is listed primarily as a centre-forward. His record also includes two goals and an assist in a single Amir Cup preliminary-stage appearance, alongside appearances in domestic cup competitions in Qatar, Tunisia and the UAE.

Faye’s move was completed on 5 August 2026, keeping him in the UAE Pro League and adding a Senegalese option to Hatta’s attacking ranks. He is contracted to Hatta Club until June 2027.
