On Friday, Dimitar Berbatov, the international striker for Manchester United with one year left on his contract, inked a two-season deal with Fulham.

The 31-year-old Berbatov was eager to part ways with MU, where he had limited playing time (only 12 Premier League matches and 7 goals last year). Despite exploring options with Fiorentina and Juventus Turin, and experiencing a significant setback, he ultimately opted for Fulham.

While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, it’s estimated to be around 6 million euros, inclusive of bonuses. Berbatov, acquired for nearly 40 million euros from Tottenham in 2008 (making it the third most expensive transfer in the Red Devils’ history), played 149 matches for MU across all competitions, netting 56 goals. He notably clinched the top scorer title in the English championship in 2011 with 21 goals.
