Initially linked with Lyon and Sunderland, the left-back, who has been in the news for a while, is now said to be on the verge of joining Marseille. According to L’Equipe, Mendy has already joined the Marseille squad in Crans Montana, Switzerland, and is expected to undergo a medical examination before finalizing the contract. The agreement between Marseille and Le Havre has reportedly been reached, although the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed. Mendy, an 18-year-old player, has established himself as a key player in Ligue 2 over the past two seasons.
