German-Ghanaian winger Benjamin Boakye achieved a career milestone by making his professional debut for VfB Stuttgart in a challenging Champions League clash against Red Star Belgrade.
Substituted in the 84th minute for Chris Führich, Boakye stepped onto the pitch in front of an electric crowd in Serbia.
The 19-year-old, who has been a standout for Stuttgart’s second team this season with four goals and an assist in 14 third-division matches, could not influence the tide of the match. Red Star Belgrade overwhelmed Stuttgart with a dominant display, ultimately sealing a resounding 5-1 victory.
Despite the defeat, Boakye showcased glimpses of his potential during his brief spell, contributing to Stuttgart’s efforts in the closing minutes. His debut marks another chapter in a promising career, having already made an impression in the Youth League with one goal in two matches.
Boakye’s ascent to the first team is a testament to his determination, and Stuttgart fans will be eager to see how the dynamic winger develops in future outings.
