Benito joins Kapaz PFK to begin new chapter in Azerbaijan
Nigeria and Ivory Coast winger Benito has joined Kapaz PFK from Cypriot club Akritas Chlor. on a free transfer, giving the Azerbaijan Premyer Liqa side an experienced attacking option on the right.
The 27-year-old completed the move on 20 August 2026. Benito, who was born in Abidjan, is listed as a right winger and favours his left foot. He stands 1.80m tall and arrives after playing for Akritas Chlor. in Cyprus’ 2. Division.
Benito has spent his career across several European and Asian leagues. Before moving to Cyprus, he represented Akritas Chlor., while earlier clubs included Dynamo Kyiv, Lokomotiv Tashkent and FK Tambov.
His honours include a Ukrainian Cup winners’ medal with Dynamo Kyiv in the 2019-20 season. He also won the Uzbek league title with Lokomotiv Tashkent in 2016-17, when he scored one goal, and lifted the Uzbek Cup with the same club in 2017.
Benito was also part of the FK Tambov side that won the Russian second tier in 2019. Those achievements provide the main competitive context to his arrival at Kapaz, who compete in Azerbaijan’s top division.
The move brings the winger to a club in a new league after his time in Cyprus. His listed market value is €125,000, although Kapaz have secured his services without a transfer fee.
Benito’s arrival adds a player with experience of winning domestic honours in Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Russia to the club’s squad. His role is expected to focus on the right side of attack, where his left-footed profile offers a specific option for Kapaz.
The transfer was completed on 20 August 2026.
