Beninese international Charbel Gomez is on the verge of securing a transfer to a new team in Türkiye after an impressive campaign with Muras United.
The 24-year-old striker has reportedly reached an agreement with a club in the Turkish second division and now prepares to finalise the move.
Sources close to the deal indicate that Gomez expects to arrive in Türkiye within days.
His schedule includes a routine medical assessment, after which he plans to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The identity of the club remains undisclosed for the moment, but negotiations have reached an advanced stage.
Gomez joined Muras United in January and delivered a standout 2025 season.
He featured in 31 matches and contributed directly to 13 goals, scoring eight times and providing five assists.
His form convinced Muras United to offer a contract extension, but the forward opted to pursue a new challenge abroad.
His performances also attracted interest from other European sides.
Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova and Slovakia’s AS Trenčín made enquiries and held advanced discussions, yet the Turkish opportunity proved the most convincing option for the Beninese attacker.
Gomez, who has earned 20 caps for the Squirrels of Benin, previously spent time in France with Amiens before moving to Georgia to play for Samgurali.
A switch to Türkiye now offers him another step in his career trajectory, one he views as a significant opportunity to continue his development and establish himself further on the European stage.
