Olé-Nicolle has been appointed as the new coach of the Benin national team, the Ecureuils. The French coach has signed a two-year contract and is expected to assume his duties starting from May, as reported by L’Equipe 21.
Africa Top Sports had previously indicated that Olé-Nicolle, a former coach of Nice, was in advanced talks to lead the team in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
He was chosen over other candidates such as Milovan Rajevic, the former coach of Ghana, and Hubert Velud, the current coach of USM Alger.
Olé-Nicolle’s primary objective will be to guide the Benin team to qualification for the 2015 African Cup of Nations, which is set to take place in Morocco.
