Beni Mukendi: Real Betis linked with move for Vitoria Guimaraes’ Angolan midfielder

Angolan midfielder Beni Mukendi of Vitoria Guimaraes is being linked with a move to LaLiga side Real Betis, with the Spanish club monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation in Portugal.

Mukendi, a central midfielder born in Luanda, is under contract at Guimaraes until 30 June 2029, a deal that puts the Portuguese club in a strong position in any negotiations. His current market valuation stands at around €4m, a figure likely to form a reference point if Betis decide to formalise their interest.

The right-footed midfielder has established himself in Liga Portugal, making 88 top-flight appearances and contributing one goal and six assists, underlining his experience at that level despite his age. He was part of the Vitoria Guimaraes side that lifted the Portuguese League Cup in the 2025-26 season, adding silverware to his growing resume.

Mukendi only joined Vitoria Guimaraes in February 2025 from Casa Pia in a deal worth about €3m, a significant outlay that reflected the esteem in which he was held domestically. Before that move he had progressed through Portuguese football, including a spell at Trofense, where he featured in the Campeonato de Portugal and Liga Portugal 2.

Real Betis’ interest comes as clubs across Europe look to reinforce their midfields ahead of the new campaign, but with Mukendi tied to a long-term contract and having recently moved for a substantial fee, Guimaraes are under no pressure to sell and would be expected to drive a hard bargain if talks advance.
