Bendel Insurance bring goalkeeper Amas Obasogie back to Nigeria

Nigerian-Tanzanian goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has joined Bendel Insurance from Tanzania’s Singida SC, completing his return to the Nigerian Professional Football League.

The 26-year-old’s move was registered on 24 August 2026, with Bendel Insurance becoming his new club after a spell in Tanzania. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the deal.

Obasogie was born in Benin City on 27 December 1999 and stands 1.83m tall. He plays as a goalkeeper and is right-footed, adding a senior option in goal for Bendel Insurance as the club begins the 2026-27 campaign.

The goalkeeper previously left Bendel Insurance for Ethiopian side Fasil Kenema in September 2024. He then moved to Singida SC in February 2025 before making his latest switch back to the Nigerian club.

His return means Obasogie has rejoined the side after two international moves in the space of two seasons. His career path has included football in Nigeria, Ethiopia and Tanzania, with the latest transfer taking him back to the club he represented before his move abroad.

Obasogie’s recorded market value is €200,000, while his highest listed value is €250,000. His new club competes in the NPFL, bringing the goalkeeper back into Nigeria’s domestic football system.

The move also links Obasogie with Bendel Insurance’s established club identity after his period away from the country. He now resumes his career with the Benin City-based side, having previously represented the club before joining Fasil Kenema.

Bendel Insurance have therefore secured the return of a goalkeeper who has spent the previous two seasons moving between clubs in three countries. Obasogie’s transfer from Singida SC to Bendel Insurance was completed on 24 August 2026.
