Henri Bédimo: “Cameroon’s Mentality Made the Difference”
After Cameroon’s 1-1 draw with Mali in their AFCON 2015 Group D opener, Henri Bédimo highlighted the importance of the team’s resilience and the mindset instilled by coach Volker Finke.
“What is interesting in this match is Cameroon’s reaction. This was possible because there is a state of mind that the coach has been trying to establish since then,” said the Lyon left back in an interview with Canal+.
Bédimo acknowledged that the Indomitable Lions were put under pressure by a determined Malian side but ultimately managed to avoid defeat thanks to their mental strength.
He also issued a warning:
“We need character, otherwise Cameroon could miss out.”
With Group D still wide open after all teams drew their opening matches, Bédimo’s words serve as a reminder that mental toughness and unity will be key if Cameroon wants to go far in this tournament.
