A refresher course for Malagasy beach soccer referees was conducted last week to enhance their skills and improve the quality of officiating in future tournaments. The FIFA instructor, Lakrdar Benchabane, expressed confidence in the referees’ level of enthusiasm and quality after the four-day training session. The course covered various aspects, including the philosophy of beach soccer, the laws of the game, and on-field behaviors. The training also identified six new instructors from Madagascar, contributing to the development of officiating expertise on the island. The initiative aims to address criticisms of referee performance during the last national championship in November.
