After drawing 1-1 in regular time, the Malagasy secured their first-ever continental title, following their success in the COSAFA Cup. This victory not only crowned them African champions but also earned them a spot in the Beach Soccer World Cup for the first time, a remarkable achievement for the sport in the country.
Senegal, despite being the defending champions and receiving strong encouragement from President Macky Sall, could not retain their title. Nigeria bounced back to secure third place with a dominant 9-1 victory over Ivory Coast, while Ivory Coast finished fourth.
