Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Yann Bisseck ends as Inter prepare new long-term deal

Bayern Munich appear set to miss out on the signing of German defender of Cameroonian descent, Yann Bisseck, with the centre-back reportedly close to agreeing a new long-term contract with Inter Milan.

According to Sportmediaset, the 25-year-old is expected to extend his current deal, which runs until 2029, by a further two years, keeping him at the Serie A club until 2031.

The proposed agreement would effectively end Bayern’s hopes of bringing the defender back to Germany after months of monitoring his progress.

Bayern interest fails to materialise

The Bundesliga champions had identified Bisseck as a potential addition to their defence, impressed by his physical presence, pace and ability to play out from the back.

Reports in recent weeks suggested a transfer was possible, with Inter believed to be open to negotiations if they received an offer in the region of €40 million.

Several Premier League clubs were also credited with an interest in the German international during the summer transfer window.

Key figure at Inter

Since joining Inter Milan in the summer of 2023, Bisseck has developed from a squad player into one of the club’s most reliable defenders.

His consistent performances have earned him an increasingly important role, and reports indicate he is eager to take on greater responsibility within the squad while helping to guide younger players.
