Chelsea have reportedly rejected a loan offer from Bayern Munich, looking to sign Christopher Nkunku.
Sources have indicated that the English club is only interested in the permanent transfer of the France forward of Congolese descent this summer.
Bayern had hoped to secure Nkunku on loan this summer, but negotiations have stalled with Chelsea holding firm on their stance.
According to The Times, Chelsea made it clear that the 27-year-old forward would only leave Stamford Bridge through a permanent sale, creating a major stumbling block for Bayern’s plans.
While Bayern Munich remain keen on Nkunku, the chances of a deal materialising now seem slim unless Chelsea softens their position in the coming weeks.
Having spent most of last season on the bench at Chelsea, a move this summer will help Nkunku to play regularly, rediscover his best form and have a better chance of returning to the national team, especially ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
