Bayern Munich have made a new contract for Michael Olise a priority after agreeing an extension with striker Harry Kane.
Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen said he and sporting director Max Eberl would work together on negotiations with the French winger, whose current agreement with the Bundesliga champions runs until 2029.
“That (Olise’s contract extension) is something Max and I are jointly responsible for,” Dreesen said.
“We always said that we don’t just have a fantastic player in Harry, but also other great players in our squad, including Michael Olise. His contract runs until 2029, and we’ll sit down and discuss things at the appropriate time.”
Olise has impressed since joining Bayern and his performances have increased interest from some of Europe’s leading clubs. That has made his long-term future an important issue for the German champions.
Real Madrid have previously been linked with a move for the winger. Reports suggested the Spanish club were willing to offer up to 150 million euros for Olise before deciding to pursue other options.
Bayern are keen to retain their most important players and would be in a strong position if another club attempted to sign Olise. His contract length gives the club significant leverage in any potential negotiations, although discussions over an improved deal have not yet taken place.
The club’s immediate focus on Olise follows the completion of Kane’s contract extension. Dreesen indicated that Bayern’s squad contains several players whose futures will require attention, with Olise identified among those priorities.
No timetable has been set for talks, with Dreesen saying the discussions would take place “at the appropriate time”.
