Bayern Munich trigger buy-back clause for German-Equatorial Guinea midfielder Noel Aseko

German club FC Bayern Munich have officially confirmed the return of promising midfielder Noel Aseko.

The Bundesliga giants are activating the buy-back clause of the Equatorial Guinea talent following his loan spell at Hannover 96.

The defensive midfielder will head back to Säbener Straße at the end of the current season, as Bayern continue to show a firm commitment to integrating emerging talents into their first-team plans.

Aseko, whose contract with the Bavarian giants runs until 2028, has enjoyed an impressive stint in the 2. Bundesliga, where he quickly established himself as a key figure. Since arriving in Lower Saxony during the winter break of 2025, the Berlin-born player has made a strong impact with consistent performances.

Across 27 appearances, he has contributed three goals and five assists, underlining his ability to influence the game beyond his primary defensive role.

His development during the loan spell appears to have convinced Bayern’s hierarchy that he is ready for the next step, as the club looks to blend youth with experience in shaping its future squad.
