German outfit Bayern Munich are reportedly planning to present a formal bid to Chelsea for the signing of France forward of Congolese descent, Christopher Nkunku.
According to sources, the bid will be submitted next week.
The German champions have stepped up their pursuit following unsuccessful attempts to land Nick Woltemade and are now in advanced discussions with Chelsea over the 27-year-old’s transfer.
Reports suggest negotiations held over the weekend were positive, with both clubs working out the structure of a potential deal. Nkunku is also said to be keen on making the move to Munich.
Fueling the speculation, Nkunku was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace on Sunday, a decision widely linked to his possible transfer.
If completed, the move would see Bayern secure one of Europe’s most versatile attackers as they continue to strengthen ahead of the new season.
