Bayern Munich thrash Bodø/Glimt 5-0 to begin Champions League campaign

Bayern Munich made a winning start to their 2026/27 UEFA Champions League campaign by beating Bodø/Glimt 5-0 at the Allianz Arena on Thursday.

Vincent Kompany’s side dominated possession and territory but were unable to break through during a goalless first half, with Bodø/Glimt’s defensive block frustrating the hosts.

The breakthrough came two minutes after the interval. Jamal Musiala fired into the net from the right after Harry Kane’s initial effort had been blocked, giving Bayern the lead in the 47th minute.

The goal opened up the match for the German champions, who soon extended their advantage. Kane headed in from Michael Olise’s free-kick in the 61st minute to make it 2-0.

Bayern continued to press forward and added a third in the 77th minute. Alphonso Davies met the ball with a left-footed volley to put the result beyond doubt.

Olise then took centre stage during the closing stages. The France international curled a shot into the top corner in the 83rd minute before completing his double in added time at 90+2.

Bodø/Glimt’s task became even harder when Bjortuft was sent off in the 87th minute. The Norwegian side could not prevent Bayern from completing a convincing victory and a strong attacking start to their European campaign.
