Bayern Munich are reportedly weighing up the option of cutting short Jonah Kusi-Asare’s loan spell at Fulham after the move failed to deliver the expected playing time for the young striker.
The German giants sent the Swedish forward of Ghanaian descent to Fulham in a bid to help him gain regular minutes at a high level. However, the loan has so far not gone according to plan, with opportunities proving limited since his arrival in the Premier League.
Since joining Fulham last summer, Kusi-Asare has managed just 23 minutes of Premier League action.
According to a source, Bayern are now considering terminating the loan agreement during the current transfer window in order to reassess the player’s development path.
The report adds that the move to England was driven largely by the player’s own preference, while Bayern had initially envisaged a different route for his progress.
The Bundesliga champions are said to have favoured a loan move to Belgium, the Netherlands or Swiss side Grasshoppers Zürich, options they believed would offer more consistent playing time.
With his future under review, a recall could open the door for a fresh loan arrangement better suited to Kusi-Asare’s long-term development.
