Bayern Munich are preparing a formal proposal to sign AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, combining a substantial transfer fee with the inclusion of a first-team player in exchange.
The Bundesliga giants are intensifying their pursuit of the highly rated attacker as they look to reinforce their squad ahead of the new season.
Leao, who has Angolan roots but represents Portugal at international level, remains one of Milan’s most valuable assets, with a €175 million buyout clause in his contract, which runs until 2028.
Despite the recent appointment of Max Allegri as Milan’s new head coach, there is growing belief within both camps that the 24-year-old is open to a fresh challenge this summer.
According to Foot Mercato, Bayern have tracked Leao for an extended period and are now prepared to make their move.
The proposed bid includes €75 million in cash, plus the option of either midfielder Leon Goretzka or winger Kingsley Coman heading to San Siro as part of the deal.
Both players are considered high-profile assets at the Allianz Arena, but Bayern are reportedly willing to sacrifice one of them to secure Leao’s signature.
The German champions are looking to reshape their attacking setup and Leao’s blend of pace, technical skill, and versatility across the front line makes him a prime target.
The Rossoneri are understood to be evaluating the proposal, aware that the financial package, coupled with the potential arrival of an experienced international, could be an attractive option as they restructure under Allegri.
Leao scored 13 goals in all competitions last season and has consistently attracted interest from Europe’s elite.
