Bayern Munich set soft ultimatum for Michael Olise contract talks

Bayern Munich are growing increasingly concerned about Michael Olise’s future as contract talks with the France winger have yet to begin, according to Sport Bild.

Bayern want to secure the 24-year-old with a new deal until 2032 and a salary that would place him among the club’s highest earners. Olise, however, has reportedly not made clear whether he wants to commit his long-term future to Bavaria.

The main sticking point is his request for a release clause in any new contract. Such a mechanism would make a future departure easier, although Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala already have similar arrangements at Bayern.

Internally, club officials expect negotiations to be “very, very difficult”. Sporting director Max Eberl has reportedly set a soft ultimatum, with Bayern hoping to receive a clear answer from Olise before next summer.

There is no suggestion of an immediate split. Olise remains central to Bayern’s project, and his strong form for club and country has only increased his value.

But the longer the uncertainty continues, the more leverage the winger gains. Bayern must now find both sporting and financial arguments to convince him to stay.
