Bayern Munich score 15 in pre-season thrashing as eighth-tier club substitute long-serving treasurer

Bayern Munich began their pre-season preparations with a 15-0 victory over eighth-tier side Rotan Eggern – but it was the home team’s decision to bring on their club treasurer that stole much of the attention.

The German champions overwhelmed Rotan Eggern, who play in the eighth division of German football, in a one-sided friendly, sharing the goals widely across the squad.

Reports state that the treasurer of Rotan Eggern also works as a police officer and has been associated with the club since 2002. He appeared in the colours of his team and was instantly recognisable to those watching thanks to his distinctive, traditional-style moustache.

The unexpected cameo quickly became the talking point of the game, overshadowing even Bayern’s goal avalanche for many neutral observers.
