Jurgen Klopp backs Mohamed Salah for long career after Liverpool exit

Bayern Munich have firmly dismissed speculation linking them with a move for Mohamed Salah, following confirmation that the Egyptian forward will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

Salah’s impending departure brings the curtain down on a glittering nine-year spell at Anfield, where he has established himself as one of the most influential players in the club’s modern history. The 33-year-old recently announced his decision to move on, immediately sparking widespread interest across Europe and beyond, with several elite clubs reportedly monitoring his situation.

Among those linked were Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, alongside emerging interest from clubs in the United States and Saudi Arabia. However, Bayern have now moved quickly to distance themselves from the growing transfer rumours.

Sporting director Max Eberl addressed the speculation directly, offering a clear and unequivocal response to reports suggesting the Bundesliga giants had already made contact with Salah’s representatives.

“No, Mohamed Salah has not received any offer from Bayern Munich.”

The statement effectively shuts down one of the more prominent narratives surrounding Salah’s next destination, at least for now, as the forward weighs up his options ahead of the summer transfer window.

While Bayern may not be in the race, the market for Salah is expected to remain highly competitive given his pedigree, experience, and continued output at the highest level. Even in the latter stages of his career, he remains a decisive figure capable of influencing major competitions, making him an attractive proposition for clubs seeking both quality and global appeal.

Interestingly, the transfer conversation has also extended in the opposite direction. Bayern winger Michael Olise has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool as a long-term successor to Salah.

However, any deal would likely be complicated by significant financial demands, making such a transfer difficult to execute.
