Bayern Munich renew interest to sign German-Senegalese defender Malick Thiaw
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are reportedly considering recruiting German-born defender of Senegal descent Malick Thiaw in the next summer transfer window.
According to a source, the 24-year-old centre-back, currently at Newcastle United FC, has emerged as a target for multiple elite clubs.
Bayern Munich are said to be leading the chase, while Manchester United are also keeping tabs on the defender. Liverpool FC have likewise been mentioned among potential suitors.
Thiaw only completed his move from AC Milan to Newcastle in 2025 and remains under contract until 2029, giving the Premier League side strong leverage in any negotiations.
Since arriving in England, he has established himself as a dependable figure at the heart of the defence, delivering consistent performances throughout the campaign.
Despite the growing speculation, a final decision regarding Thiaw’s future is not expected until the conclusion of the season, when both the player and his club are likely to assess their next steps.
