Ismaëlo Ganiou draws European transfer interest after breakthrough season

Bayern Munich have joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing RC Lens centre-back Ismaëlo Ganiou following a standout breakthrough season in Ligue 1.

The young French-Burkinabe defender has emerged as one of Lens’ most impressive performers this campaign after establishing himself in the first team shortly after arriving during the summer transfer window.

His rapid development has seen his market value rise significantly, now estimated at around €10 million.

Ganiou’s consistent displays have attracted attention across Europe, with several top clubs monitoring his progress closely ahead of the next transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille are already understood to be tracking the 20-year-old, but Bayern Munich have now entered the race.

According to information shared by Bayern Insides on social media, the German champions have made initial contact with the player’s representatives as they assess defensive options for the summer.

The Bavarian club are reportedly viewing Ganiou as a potential replacement for Kim Min-jae, who is expected to leave the Allianz Arena at the end of the season. This has accelerated Bayern’s interest as they look to reinforce their defensive line.

RC Lens, however, are in a strong negotiating position. The French club are expected to demand between €20 million and €30 million if they are to sanction a sale, reflecting both the player’s potential and his growing importance to the squad.

Despite the increasing attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, Ganiou’s future remains open. Reports suggest he is also close to reaching an agreement with Turkish side Fenerbahçe, adding another layer of complexity to his next career move.

On the pitch this season, the defender has made 23 Ligue 1 appearances and has also contributed three goals, underlining his impact at both ends of the field.

With interest continuing to intensify, the coming months are likely to be decisive in determining whether Ganiou remains in France or takes the next step in his career with one of Europe’s elite clubs.
