Bayern Munich president says Harry Kane talks are progressing despite contract reports
Herbert Hainer says Bayern Munich are optimistic about extending Harry Kane’s contract and has dismissed reports of a disagreement over its length.
The Bayern Munich president expects an agreement with the England striker to be reached soon, saying negotiations were progressing “excellently”.
“I am extremely optimistic,” Hainer told French football site Foot Mercato. “I know from Jan Dreesen and the board that the negotiations are going very well, and Harry and his family are very happy in Munich. So I expect us to reach an agreement soon.”
Reports had suggested Kane wanted a new three-year deal, while Bayern Munich had offered a two-year extension.
Hainer rejected the idea that the difference in contract length was the main obstacle in the discussions.
“No, not at all,” he said. “It is about many details, such as image rights and personal rights, and we will work to resolve them. The issue is not the length of the contract.”
