Bayern Munich plan major Michael Olise contract to fend off Real Madrid interest

Bayern Munich are preparing a lucrative new contract for Michael Olise in an attempt to secure the France international’s long-term future and discourage interest from Real Madrid.

Olise has established himself as one of the leading names in world football since joining Bayern, with his ability to influence matches and his growing importance to the German club attracting increasing attention across Europe.

Real Madrid are closely monitoring the 24-year-old’s progress, while Bayern recognise the winger’s rising value and want to act before any potential approach develops into a bid.

According to Sky Sport Germany, Bayern’s proposed agreement would extend Olise’s current contract, which runs until 2029, through to 2032. The financial terms are expected to reflect the increasingly significant role he plays in the team.

Under the proposed deal, Olise could become Bayern’s highest-paid player, moving ahead of Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala. The pair are reported to earn about 25m euros per year.

Olise currently receives about 14m euros annually. If the new terms are agreed, his salary would rise substantially to approximately 30m euros a year.

The proposed renewal comes as interest in Olise continues to grow in the transfer market. Bayern want to recognise his importance on the pitch while ensuring he remains part of the club’s plans for the long term.

However, salary is not expected to be the only major issue in negotiations. The inclusion of a release clause, which would give Olise a degree of control over his future, could prove one of the most difficult points to resolve.

The player’s agent, Glenn Tweneboa, considers such a clause important, following a similar arrangement during Olise’s time at Crystal Palace. That provision helped facilitate the player’s move to Bayern in 2024 for about 53m euros.

Bayern have generally been reluctant to accept release clauses that allow their players to leave, meaning the club will have to consider Tweneboa’s request as discussions progress.

One option under consideration is a clause worth more than 200m euros. Such a figure would underline Bayern’s valuation of Olise and the strong negotiating position now held by the France international.

The final terms, including the value and structure of any release clause, will depend on the progress of talks between the player and the club.
