German giants Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign talented Congolese teenager Jorthy Mokio.
The 16-year-old, born in Belgium, currently plays for the youth team of Ajax in the Netherlands.
Jorthy Mokio not only plays as a defensive midfielder but can also be deployed as a left-back.
Having made several appearances for the first team of Ajax, Jorthy Mokio has become a transfer of several clubs.
Earlier this month, several reports indicated that Chelsea was tracking the teenager and hopes to make a move in the summer transfer window to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Bayern Munich have now joined the race and will look to rival the Blues for the signature of the Belgian midfielder.
The contract of Jorthy Mokio will run until summer 2027. If Ajax wants to keep off clubs, they must present him with a contract extension in the coming months.
