Bayern Munich intensify efforts to tie down Dayot Upamecano with a new contract
Bayern Munich are determined to extend the contract of French defender of Guinean-Bissau descent, Dayot Upamecano.
According to sources, the German Bundesliga champions have intensified their efforts to tie down the centre-back to a new contract.
It is understood that club officials are confident of reaching a swift agreement, although Upamecano is reportedly keeping his options open and considering interest from other European sides.
The 26-year-old has become a cornerstone of Bayern’s defence since joining from RB Leipzig in 2021, and the club sees him as vital to their long-term project.
Meanwhile, Bayern also have plans for winger Michael Olise, whose contract already runs until 2029.
Discussions are said to be underway to secure his commitment even further, though no direct contact has been made with his representatives at this stage.
Bayern officials plan to engage the representatives of the two players continuously until the deals are agreed upon.
