German giants Bayern Munich have reportedly held a secret meeting with the representatives of transfer target Marc Guehi.

The Bundesliga champions are one of the favourites to sign the English defender of Ivorian descent next summer.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, personally met with Guehi’s agent, Gordon Stipic, in recent days to express the Bundesliga champions’ strong interest in the England international, who is of Ivorian descent.

The Bayern hierarchy are said to be highly impressed with Guehi’s blend of technical ability, physicality, and tactical intelligence. With head coach Vincent Kompany, a former elite centre-back himself, keen to build a robust defensive core, Guehi is viewed as an ideal fit for the club’s long-term project.

Bayern are reportedly monitoring their current defensive options closely, with the futures of Dayot Upamecano and Minjae Kim still uncertain, making Guehi a top priority as they plan for next season.

However, Bayern face stiff competition. Both Real Madrid and Liverpool are also said to be tracking the 25-year-old closely, with scouts from the two European giants attending multiple Crystal Palace games in recent months.

Guehi according to sources is undecided on his next club but will settle on a club in the January window before moving next summer.
