Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s 19-year-old centre-forward Christian Kofane, who currently carries a market value of €40.00m.
The Bundesliga champions are reported to be monitoring the Cameroon forward, with Transfermarkt listing the speculation of a switch from Leverkusen to Bayern on 2 April 2026, though the probability of the move remains unclear (“?”). There is no listed contract expiry date for Kofane at Leverkusen, raising the theoretical prospect that, should talks over a new deal stall in future, the teenager could eventually move on as a free agent, although there is no suggestion that is imminent.
Kofane, who wears the number 35 shirt for Leverkusen, joined the club in July 2025 from Spanish side Albacete Balompié, having previously progressed from Albacete’s U19s after a move from Cameroonian club AS Nylon in November 2024. Born in Douala on 26 July 2006, the 1.89m right-footed striker is listed primarily as an attacking centre-forward.
His rise in Germany has been reflected in a rapid increase in his valuation. In March 2025, while at Albacete, he was valued at €200,000, before jumping to €5m by June. Since moving to Leverkusen his market value has climbed again, from €12m in October 2025 to €22m in December, reaching €40m by 20 March 2026.
No formal fee, bid size or contract length has been disclosed, and there is no confirmation from either club that negotiations are advanced. The latest rumour update was logged on 2 April 2026 at 15:31.
Kofane’s development in the Bundesliga and his growing reputation as a powerful, goal-focused centre-forward mean any move to Bayern, if it materialises, would represent a major step in his career and could significantly shape his standing in both German and African football.
