FC Bayern Munich are reportedly exploring options to strengthen their right-back position ahead of the summer transfer window, with two promising young defenders now on their radar.

According to SPORT BILD, the German champions are closely monitoring Chelsea talent Josh Acheampong and Feyenoord’s rising star Givairo Read as potential long-term solutions for the position.

Acheampong Emerging As Internal Favourite

Among the two targets, Acheampong is believed to be highly rated within Bayern’s recruitment structure.

The 20-year-old defender, who is contracted to Chelsea FC until 2029, is regarded as one of England’s most promising defensive prospects.

Standing at 1.90m, he offers versatility across the back line, with the ability to operate both as a right-back and a central defender. His current market valuation is estimated at around €25 million.

Givairo Read Still On Bayern’s Radar

Bayern are also continuing to track Givairo Read, who has been linked with the club on several occasions in recent months.

The 19-year-old right-back has attracted growing attention following impressive performances for Feyenoord Rotterdam, and he recently hinted that a move could be possible.

Read admitted that interest from major clubs is no secret, suggesting a summer transfer could be on the horizon.

However, Feyenoord are reportedly holding firm on a valuation of around €30 million for the Dutch defender.

Transfer Plans Still Uncertain

Despite their interest, reports indicate that a right-back signing is not currently Bayern’s top priority this summer.

The situation is further complicated by uncertainty surrounding the future of existing defender Sacha Boey, whose long-term role at the club has not yet been fully defined.

Bayern are expected to continue monitoring both Acheampong and Read as they evaluate their defensive options ahead of the new season.
