German giants, Bayern Munich, reportedly doubt the leadership qualities of French defender of Guinea-Bissau descent Dayot Upamecano.
As a result, the club is said to be looking at other defensive options in the transfer market and will attempt to bring in reinforcements in the summer window.
The Munich-based club is believed to be unsatisfied with its defensive displays this season, especially in games where the team struggled to hold onto leads or stage comebacks in crucial moments.
Dayot Upamecano, who had shown strong form before sustaining a knee injury, has worked on improving various aspects of his game.
Although he has improved, questions remain within the club regarding his leadership on the pitch. It is rumoured that this is one of the reasons why contract extension talks have stalled.
Because of this, Bayern Munich scouts have been tasked to come up with profiles of other players who can do better and possess better leadership qualities as well.
The club will try to bring in new players to augment the squad, although the club is not keen on offloading Upamecano.
