German champions Bayern Munich have officially confirmed the departure of three players ahead of the new season, including Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson.

The forward spent the 2025/26 football campaign on loan at the Bavarian club from Chelsea.

Jackson returns to Chelsea

Reports in recent weeks suggested Bayern Munich were considering activating the purchase option included in Jackson’s loan agreement following his performances during the season. However, the Bundesliga champions have now confirmed that the Senegal international will return to Chelsea once his loan spell officially ends.

Bayern Munich shared a farewell message to Jackson on their official X account, thanking the striker for his contribution during his time with the club.

The 24 year old joined Bayern on loan for the season and played a role in helping the club secure domestic success before the decision was made not to retain him permanently.

Goretzka and Guerreiro also leave

Jackson was not the only player to bid farewell to Bayern Munich this summer. The club also confirmed that Leon Goretzka and Portuguese defender Raphael Guerreiro will both leave the Allianz Arena when their contracts expire on June 30.

In a farewell message to Guerreiro, Bayern Munich wrote: “Thank you, Rafa. 95 games, 14 goals, 8 assists… Thank you for your commitment to Bayern Munich, and we wish you all the best for the rest of your career! Goodbye and all the best.”

The Portuguese international leaves after making a strong impact during his time with the German side, contributing both defensively and offensively across multiple competitions.

Emotional goodbye for Goretzka

Bayern Munich also paid tribute to long-serving midfielder Leon Goretzka, who spent eight years with the club and helped the team win numerous trophies.

“8 years, 16 titles, will remain forever. Thank you for everything, Leon! For your commitment, your passion, and all those unforgettable moments,” the club wrote in its farewell message to the German midfielder.

Goretzka departs Bayern as one of the club’s most experienced players in recent years, having played a key role in several Bundesliga triumphs and European campaigns.
