Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has shared positive updates about Alphonso Davies, who is working his way back to the pitch after a serious cruciate ligament injury.

At 25, Davies recently took part in portions of team training for the first time since his eight-month layoff. Kompany didn’t hold back his admiration, saying, “He is simply an incredible athlete. Even though he’s not yet at 100 percent, he’s probably already the fastest player in the squad.” Kompany also highlighted Davies’ impressive physical foundation, noting, “It looks as if he can’t even get tired.”

Still, the coach advised caution and patience regarding Davies’ full return. “Of course, Davies now needs to keep being patient,” Kompany commented. It remains uncertain when the Canadian will feature again, but if he manages to play one or two matches before the end of the year, Kompany would consider that “a big success.”

Davies’ journey back has drawn both excitement and optimism, but Bayern is making sure not to rush his recovery, keeping long-term fitness in mind.
