Mesut Özil may be sidelined for up to two weeks due to a thigh injury, as confirmed by his coach Arsène Wenger after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.
Wenger expressed concern about the severity of Özil’s injury, stating, “It seems very serious.” The German playmaker will undergo examination on Wednesday to assess the extent of the injury, but it’s anticipated that he will be out for at least two weeks. Özil’s teammate Per Mertesacker feared it could be a tear.
Özil, who had a quiet first half, did not return from the locker room after halftime and was replaced by Tomas Rosicky.
