Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly reached an agreement with Spanish club Albacete to sign talented teenager Christian Kofane.
The German Bundesliga club is all but done with the deal to secure the services of the 18-year-old Cameroonian striker.
Bayer Leverkusen are reported to have activated the forward’s €5 million release clause. Christian Kofane is now expected to sign a long-term contract running until 2030.
The highly-rated teenager is slated to join the first team immediately, underlining the club’s confidence in his potential.
After moving from Cameroon to Spain in late 2024, the attacker was initially placed in Albacete’s U19 setup.
However, a string of standout performances earned him a swift promotion, and he made his professional debut in January.
In just 20 appearances in the Spanish second division, Kofane scored eight goals and registered one assist, catching the eye of several top European clubs.
He could be handed a key role at Bayer Leverkusen if Nigerian striker Victor Boniface leaves the club this summer.
